i-Ready Is Always Getting Better

For the 2019–2020 school year, i-Ready will be more engaging and accessible for all students, ensuring every learner gets the support they need, when they need it. Continued improvements to the educator experience will offer greater insight into student performance.

More Motivating for All Learners

A new student dashboard will provide age-appropriate experiences for older and younger learners and offer more opportunities for students to take ownership of their learning by giving them more visibility into their performance and progress.

New Learning Games available for K–5 students using Mathematics lessons will offer challenging, engaging, and fun practice in fluency and elementary mathematical concepts.

Motivating new online lessons are coming! New instruction in foundational skills will support the youngest learners who place at the Emerging K level on the Diagnostic and are not yet ready for kindergarten-level lessons, challenge middle schoolers in Reading and Mathematics to engage deeply with texts and build conceptual understanding, and help Mathematics students in Grades 1–4 engage in sense making through word problems.

More Support for English Learners

Support for English Learners in i-Ready Instruction will expand in both Reading and Mathematics, including integrated strategic scaffolds and support for academic language development, plus additional supports for Spanish speakers.

The i-Ready Diagnostic for Mathematics will now be available in Spanish for select districts to help empower educators to assess Spanish-speaking English Learners in their native language.

More Engaging for Middle School Students

More than 100 cutting-edge new lessons are coming for middle school students, the first step toward the replacement of all Grades 6–8 lessons in Reading and Mathematics! The new instruction will adapt pacing to student needs, use culturally authentic texts, and promote student agency rather than character storylines.

And that’s not all. Middle school students will see all-new videos motivating them to do their best on the Diagnostic and will encounter fewer repeated passages and items while taking the test.

i-Ready will also continue to provide educators with new tools and resources designed for the specific challenges of the middle school classroom, including the use of i-Ready for on-grade level content.

More Accessible for Students

The i-Ready Diagnostic is targeted to be compliant with WCAG 2.0 AA, providing students with keyboard navigation, closed-captioning, and screen reader support. Plus, the next phase of accessibility improvements is underway for Standards Mastery and i-Ready Instruction.

More Powerful for Educators

Enhancements to the educator experience continue! Educators will get more actionable insight into student performance with new historical reporting, more precise Diagnostic rush flags, updated exports, and new Standards Mastery reports for administrators.
