Award “Confetti Cards” for Reaching Weekly i-Ready Lesson Goals

Jennifer Kidd, an educator in Kentucky, shared her idea for creating a positive focus for i-Ready learning in her classroom. Ms. Kidd shared how she fosters positive student mindsets, encourages students to talk about ways to make sure they reach their i-Ready goals, and makes learning fun!
Ms. Kidd would give her students "Confetti Cards" each week if they completed 45 minutes of reading lessons and another Confetti Card for 45 minutes of math lessons, along with reaching their classroom Percent of Lessons Passed goals in each subject. When students received a Confetti Card, they walked it down to the office, where they would get sprinkled with confetti! They also got their name put into a drawing for a prize from the principal, which was given on Fridays. Ms. Kidd explained that teachers throughout the school helped congratulate students when they saw their Confetti Cards, and the students loved the fun rewards and schoolwide recognition for their hard work.
