Create an i-Ready 100% Club

Cynthia Johnson, a seventh-grade teacher, Denise Wolfe, a fourth-grade teacher, and Malissa D. Esquibel, an RTI Support teacher, all use 100% clubs in their classroom! All three of their 100% boards are pictured here. Cynthia explained, "Of course we want all students to pass all quizzes at the end of their tutorials, but I am striving to have my students reach 100%. We do end-of-lesson ticket drawings for all students who pass quizzes (I check their logs against their My Progress page to verify and do this as we go), but students who strive for the 100% and reach that goal get a sticker for the board (color coded by class). They put their name on it and put it anywhere that they want! At the end of each quarter, we randomly choose four winners for $ gift cards! This is a HUGE hit and kids get really excited to get their stickers!" Similarly, Denise explained, "Each week I display the names of students who received 100% whether they did one test or ten! I went from 14 kids out of 72 to 46 out of 72 after the first week. There were so many more, in fact, that I had to display week two with sticky notes." Malissa said that, "We were finding that we had many failed lessons occurring due to students not putting forth 100% effort, so we developed a way to push students toward trying hard to pass all lessons. We created the 100% club. Every two weeks we place the names of all students who have received 100% on all lessons attempted and put them on our 100% club board. These students also get a prize box so they really want to get into our club! We have seen far less failing lessons due to this!" No matter what the reward is, students are super excited to make it to the 100% club!
