Create an i-Ready Motivation Wall

Rosia Cahn, a teacher at Florosa Elementary in Florida, teaches math lab to 112 second through fifth graders every day. She created an i-Ready Motivation Wall to use in her math lab. She explains, "When students enter the math lab, they check the Balanced Math Magnetic Board to determine which station they go to. The three categories are i-Ready (computer lessons), the teacher station, and the fluency station. If a student has achieved his or her required 45 i-Ready minutes or earned special recognition from the previous day's small group lesson, he or she will have a coin beside his or her name. That student can spend his or her i-Ready coins. On the same wall is the i-Ready Lessons Passed/Highest Pass Rate Motivation Wall. Students can clearly see the graph showing how many i-Ready lessons are passed. For each grade level, students are recognized with their name on a star. They are our Star i‑Ready Students for the week. Every time they are the star student, they get a sticker on their star. When they earn 10 stickers, they get a gold star. We update the Motivation Wall at the end of the day every Friday."
