Create an i-Ready Stars Program for Lessons Passed

Rose Becker, a teacher in Ohio, and her third-grade teaching team realized the importance of students not only completing lessons, but passing lessons. She explains, "It was for this reason that we created and implemented the i-Ready Stars program. When students pass 10 lessons in a content area, they become a "Rising Star" and have their name written on a star and displayed in the classroom. They also get their picture posted as a "Shout-out" and receive a small treat. As students continue passing lessons their stars move across the room in increments of 10. When a student reaches 40 lessons passed, they become a "Shooting Star" and can choose a prize from the classroom prize box. When students reach 70 lessons passed, they become a "Superstar" and get to eat lunch with the teacher! Then any student who reaches 100+ lessons passed by the end of the year becomes a "Rockstar" and they will get to attend a special VIP party at the end of the school year."
