Create Student Portfolios to Track Student Achievement

Educator Shelly St. Clair uses student portfolios to engage students in their own learning and growth. “At our school we use all pieces of i-Ready. We use a student portfolio to track student achievement with their testing as well as the completion of lessons from their i-Ready instructional set. We also track the success students have with Standards Mastery.” Shelly mentions that she has seen large improvements in her students since they started using portfolios. “With students taking ownership of passage of the lessons, tracking their Diagnostic growth, and monitoring their Standards Mastery progress, we have seen great growth from our students. The growth has a direct reflection on our success with Standardized State Testing for Grades K–4.”
