Enrich Student Data Chats by Including Discussion of Learning Games Data

A fourth grade teacher in California facilitates data chats with students about Online Instruction. She explains, “I discuss Online Instruction with students. As part of the conversation, I pull up the Learning Games Playtime report and ask students, 'What are you learning?' Students are eager to share what they’re learning while playing the games and even how they relate to their learning goals! Discussing learning from games as part of the Online Instruction data chat helps my students realize the connection from their i-Ready lessons and Learning Games, and how they both help fill in gaps in their learning. I also support students in creating new goals related to Learning Games, such as picking a more challenging option within a game or trying a new game to learn something new.”
