“Get Gobbling On i-Ready” Schoolwide Competition

Justin Syroka, a principal in Ohio, created a schoolwide “Get Gobbling On i-Ready” competition. This November, students will be working hard to strive for their 45 minutes of i-Ready Online Instruction per week in Math and Reading. Not only is 45 minutes one target goal, but students are also working on passing their lessons with 80% accuracy. The competition, “Get Gobbling On i-Ready,” begins on Tuesday, October 31 and ends on Sunday, December 3. Each classroom has a turkey hanging outside the library doors. At the end of every week, students will earn a stamp on their classroom’s turkey for every 10 passed lessons completed. Only passed lessons count! Classrooms that have at least 85% of students meeting their 45 minutes of instructional time in Reading and/or Math will earn 3 bonus stamps in each subject area for their classroom. The classroom at each grade level that has the most stamps on their turkey on December 4 will win the November Prize. Justin announces the standings during school announcements once a week. Students are excited to try and win for their class!
