Jesenia Soto, a teacher in Florida, created i-Ready Terrific Ticket Thursdays and a Hallway Display. She explains, "I take a photo of students on the first day of school and explain the tickets. They get a border where tickets are displayed. Once they fill out the whole border with tickets, they get a new one and start over. They take the old one home and celebrate with their families. They also get a reward in the classroom. Tickets are earned for 100% of lessons passed for the week, the golden 50 minutes a week, weekly Reading and Math fluency, and 80% or more on any test. I write student names and grades on tickets. Tickets are color-coded by subject and some examples of rewards are no shoes, trade classroom jobs, sit by a friend, write with a pen, and bring a teddy to school. I grade everything from Wednesday to Wednesday and Thursday we do tickets. It's a lot of work, but so worth it to boost their motivation to succeed!"
