Reinforce Skills with Teacher-Assigned Lessons

Marsia Tucci, ESOL teacher at Jupiter Elementary in Palm Beach County, Florida, assigns online lessons to students to review concepts from class. Teacher-Assigned Lessons provided additional practice that allowed Marsia to see if they were mastering the skills taught in class. While students work on their lessons, Marsia was able to facilitate teacher-led instruction in smaller groups or have individual data chats with students.
"Language acquisition won’t happen in a silent classroom," she said. "My students participate in academic conversations through vocabulary-rich activities. Their confidence and i-Ready scores increased last year. I believe i-Ready lessons filled in the gaps to help students make gains. For Reading, I used the Teacher-Assigned Lessons during a small group with their Reading teacher who used the same standard lesson."
