Reward and Celebrate Students for Passing Lessons

Educator Deena Ham in Florida implemented a school-wide program where students are recognized for passed lessons. Students receive lanyards and beads for passing lessons. Each week Deena goes around the school and celebrates with the classes when she hands out the rewards. “When a student passes three lessons they earn a lanyard; for every three lessons passed after that they earn a bead. Each week I go around and celebrate in classes, passing out lanyards and beads. The awardees’ pictures are taken as a class and they are featured on the morning show. We are having more students take lessons seriously. Teachers are also doing more data chats, as they want to be the class with the most students in the picture on the morning show.”
