Stephanie Beach, a teacher in California, shares, "Our school holds several schoolwide competitions throughout the year to motivate students to stay focused and pass their i-Ready lessons. For the month of October, we are holding an i-Ready competition. Each class has a football on a large football field board. The class football moves ahead for every lesson passed in reading. Our Intervention teacher updates the board twice a week. The board is in our Multi-Purpose Room where all students eat lunch each day. They get so excited to see how their team's football is moving down the board. At the end of the competition, we will select a winner from K–3 and 4–6 who have the highest number of lessons passed during the competition period."
