Use a Goal-Setting Data Chat Worksheet during Data Chats

Elizabeth McCall, an educator in Florida, shares a goal-setting worksheet used with students in early elementary. She explains, "This is a simple way for students to set and record goals. It is great for a data chat! Our administrators developed a 'challenge' for our students (pie in the face and duct tape challenge), but this form is a Word document that you can edit for your school or classroom." When creating goals for students, ensure student goals are not limited to scale scores and growth measures. Consider including learning goals that focus on specific domains, standards, and/or skills.
