Use an i-Ready Progress Chart to Conference with Students

Rachel Buck, a teacher in Illinois, conferences with her students about their i-Ready data. She explains, "Each time my students begin their i-Ready lessons, I have them record the date, start time, end time, section title, and quiz score on their i-Ready Progress Chart. They call me over to initial their score whether it is a passing or failing score. This gives me an opportunity to have an informal conference with the student to get their feedback on how things went and answer any questions they may have. In addition, I have a chart inside their class folders that I initial when they pass a lesson. For every 5 lessons passed I allow them 10 minutes of math games as a reward at the end of a class period. I allow them to choose when they want to redeem their last 10 minutes of math games and write the date and time they choose on their chart."
