Use Data Folders

Clayton Allen, a teacher in Florida, uses data folders with his students. He explains, "My students use data folders to increase engagement with i-Ready. Each student has a weekly goal of 45 minutes and an 80% (adjustable depending on where your class is). The data folders include a table where students fill in their lessons attempted, completed, percent of lessons passed, and percent of lessons passed for each domain at the end of each week. Also, students graph their weekly percent of lessons passed so that they have a visual of how they are doing each week. At the top of their folder are their D1, D2, and D3 scores as well as their scale score goals for the year, so it is always on their mind. In the lab, students have a printout of their next 20 lessons and write their score beside it as they complete the lesson. If they fail a lesson twice, they come to me with their list and we go over the quiz together from the teacher side."
