Use These Five Weekly i-Ready Teacher Actions

Wondering how to manage i-Ready with all the other responsibilities you have as an educator? Elaine Grohol, Educational Consultant, explains five action steps educators can take to use i-Ready effectively in classrooms. She explains, "These five action steps can help you focus on where to start and what to do.

  1. Remind students about i-Ready expectations. (See i-Ready Expectations Anchor chart).
  2. Check Instructional Usage report (striving for 45 minutes of Online Instruction in Reading and/or Math).
  3. Check the Class/Student Response to Instruction report and prioritize students who need additional support. Look at percent of lessons passed along with usage.
  4. Encourage students and celebrate successes.
  5. Use the Instructional Grouping Profile to guide small group differentiated instruction at least one time per week. The Instructional Grouping Profile includes instructional priorities to help you hone in on skills that your students are ready to learn."
