Create Groups for Growth
Cheri Caravano, a teacher in New Jersey, uses block scheduling in her middle school. She explained, "This provides us an excellent opportunity to have students use i-Ready each day. Students are assigned to a group, and each day when they enter class our i-Ready sign is hanging, indicating which i-Ready group is scheduled for the day. We rotate five students per day through the i-Ready section of our classroom, which is made up of five desks facing the wall, providing students an area free from distractions to complete the 45 minutes of i-Ready instructional time recommended per week. Our i‑Ready section has everything students need for a successful class including scrap paper, pencils, and extra headphones. We love our i-Ready groups!"
